Celebrity Read, Reviving Africa's Reading Culture with 'Celebrity Power'

Again, the stage is set! The Independence edition of CelebrityRead Africa is ready to fly come the 25th of September 2010 @ Terra Kulture, Plot 1376, Tiamiyu Savage, VI, Lagos. 3.00PM – 6.00PM. Come watch your favorite celebs read from their favorite literature/book! And get the chance to chitchat with them.

Celebs Reading: Denrele Edun, Yinka Davies, Dr. Chris Nwaokobia and Dipp.

CelebrityRead is a monthly not-for-profit reading event that brings together at least 3 celebrities from 3 different industries, to read a small portion from their respective chosen and favorite literature/book to a live and listening audience. After each celeb is done with reading their chosen portion of the book, the audience would be allowed to ask questions, either about the book or about the celeb’s reading habit, and the answers would be provided by the celeb.

The whole idea is to revive, though gradually, the reading culture amongst African youth, using the ‘celebrity power’.

So far, a good number of celebrities have registered their support (Kaffy, Timi Dakolo, Iyanya, OB Jazz, Obiwon, Tosin Martins, Sasha P, Denrele, Julius Agwu, Omotola Ekeinde etc), and more are still and daily doing so. This is overwhelming for us.

CelebrityRead holds every last Saturday of every month.

Venue: Terra Kulture, Plot 1376, Tiamiyu Savage Street, Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria.

Time: 3.00PM – 6.00PM

There are usually plenty of books on display at the venue for sales. This gives you the rare opportunity to buy books and have them signed by our guest authors.

The first 15 entrants get 1 free African book each.

There are gifts for every book bought within the events’ Venue.

10 lucky members of audience will get great gifts – this would be determined via lucky dips.

Refreshments will be served and admission is FREE!
