YNaija Think Outside the Box Weekend

It’s resolution season again! We have resolved to fiercely continue thinking outside the box this season. To assist us, we are bringing in young Nigerians who consistently think outside the box on Y! TV and Radio this week.

On the #IamNigeria special series, TFA Nominee in the Best use of Technology category, Tolu Iruoye talk about Magic Box invention. Tolu’s Magic Box allows users to control electrical appliances from anywhere in the world with a mobile phone. Also on the show is Emmanuel Etim, nominated in the Excellence in Public Service Category. Emmanuel works as an International Public Policy Analyst and Youth Expert within the United Nations Population Fund; Office to the African Union (AUC) and the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) as Technical Assistant to the department Human Resources, Science and Technology Division of Human Resources and Youth.

The Aspire Series which launched last week in partnership with the Unveiling Africa Foundation continues this week. The Aspire series brings young people from the Unveiling Africa Foundation with guests on the #IamNigeria. The young person on each episode gets to co-present and spotlight the guests as mentors to a fresher generation of Young Nigerians.

We host a special breed of young Nigerians this week on Rubbin’ Minds. With Winner of CNN African Journalist of the Year, Tolu Ogunlesi; United Nations IT Ambassador, Gbenga Sesan; IT Consultant, Cheta Nwanze, Film Consultant; Debbie Mangut and Amina Ebele Idris, on the show, they will be reviewing Nigeria in 2010 and talk about their expectations for 2011, being an election year.

Rubbin’ Minds is live on Sunday on Channels Television 3 – 4pm. Channels also shows to the continent though DSTV channel 134 – and you can call in! #IamNigeria is a special weekly Friday series attached to The Future Awards, running from October – February: this week 4:00pm on Wazobia FM and 4:30pm on Cool FM.
