Africa Fashion Day Berlin Presents Fashion Dinner, and Opportunity for Designers, Press and Buyers to Network

Fashion Dinner takes place on the 17th of January 2014 at 19:30h at Mani Restaurant, Torstrasse 136, Berlin 10119.

Founder of Apya Productions and the Africa Fashion Day Berlin Beatrace Oola welcomes guests to this intimate and exclusive dining experience.

The event will serve as a platform for designers to showcase and network with press and buyers. It will also launch the onlineshop UnseenPieces. Unseenpieces.com is an online shop with a selection of limited exclusive collections by young international designers for the discerning shopper.

Guest will be treated to a three-course dinner followed by a fashion presentation as well as a special collaborative tribute to Nelson Mandela by ((blackstereo)) and Afridyssey.

Showcasing designers are trailblazing BSB (Portugal/Guinea Bissau), Namibia’s Young-Designer-of-the-Year-2013 winner Nicola Konradie, British Vogue’s new-designer-to-watch Sarah Ama Duah (Hamburg), award-winning Adama Paris (Senegal) and jewellery designer Kim Riedel (Bahamas).

During a triumphant debut at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin in January 2013 with the attendance of actresses Dennenesh Zoudé, Thelma Buabeng, Sheri Hagen, Kady Taylor and presenter Aline von Drateln, Africa Fashion Day Berlin introduced the coveted collection of fashion designer Romero Bryan. Romero Bryan has dressed a-list celebrities such as Destiny’s Child, Samantha Mumba, Alek Wek and Alicia Keys.

In July Africa Fashion Day Berlin again introduced designers from the African continent and diaspora to a German audience under the patronage of Mrs. Dr. Auma Obama.

Africa has developed a booming fashion landscape with new fashion capitals such as Cape town, Lagos, Dakar and Accra. Africa Fashion Day Berlin introduces the pan-African design scene to Berlin. Creating exclusive events with international flair whilst celebrating afropolitan fashion designers.

The first platform of its kind in Germany, Africa Fashion Day Berlin is an exciting and pioneering new platform for designers of the African Diaspora. We introduce modern, cosmopolitan fashion inspired by the African aesthetics as well as global trends.
