Happy Friday to my beautiful, wonderful and brilliant community of Ladybrillers! I hope you all had a great week.
Folks, and especially ladies, I set out this week to celebrate Saran Kaba Jones and FaceAfrica, unsolicited, because I realize that our community is sitting on a rich wealth of absolutely brilliant and amazing women. Our women have conquered the world in their corners and keep forging ahead with even more achievements.
Indeed, while it is good to feature even more brilliant women each week, I felt that it just wasn’t enough and that I do want to hold off to celebrate our existing data base of simply brilliant women before resuming the addition of new ones. I think often, blogs, magazines, organizations spotlight a personality and then they are done. There is no real follow up and cultivating of a relationship to see where these women are and how they can be supported long term; and of course also encourage them to support the network of other existing women.
I do not want that for Ladybrille. I have always believed that the women who are featured on Ladybrille join a sorority of brilliant women upon being featured; and are and should be supported indefinitely, through the solicitation of their businesses as well as sharing their stories, that they make known to us, as they move on to the next level achievements.
I have also always believed that as these women draw strength, praises, support and promotion from the Ladybrille community, that they too give back by contributing their resources and time, however limited, to encourage and inspire a new generation of brilliant women ( the young ones behind).
So before we resume the celebration of even more success stories with our woman of the week spotlight, let’s really take the time to savor the success of our past women; and their continued journey into more meaningful, deeper and richer lives for themselves, their families and their communities.
If you have not purchased your ticket to Saran’s event, please visit www.faceafricagala.com to do so.
I will leave you with parting words from Saran via the video clips below and some few photos that illustrate her journey thus far. Have a great weekend and catch you all soon.
