The World Premiere Red Carpet Screening of “REDLIGHT”

New York, NY June 2010 – More slaves exist in the world today than at any other point in history.  Human trafficking is a global issue no country is immune from.

In order to highlight this global issue, UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador Lucy Liu produced and narrated REDLIGHT, an inspiring and powerful feature documentary about child sexual exploitation.  Filmed over a four year period, REDLIGHT focuses on the personal stories of young victims and two remarkable advocates for change: grass-roots activist Somaly Mam and politician Mu Sochua. Both have since been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize and won other numerous human rights awards around the world.

Please join us for the World Premiere Red-Carpet Screening of REDLIGHT at 6:00 PM with limited tickets to the public and at 9:00 PM open to the general public on Monday, June 21st 2010, at the SVA Theater, located at 333 West 23rd Street in New York City.

The screening, presented by Priority Films in partnership with LexisNexis, will be followed by a special Q&A session featuring Nobel Peace Prize nominee Mu Sochua; the Filmmakers, Guy Jacobson and Adi Ezroni, who both won the prestigious U.S. State Department’s Global Hero Award and Dr. Susan Bissell, UNICEF’s Global Chief of Child Protection.

The proceeds from this event will benefit RedLight Children and Restore NYC, two not for profit organizations working to end slavery and child exploitation.

Tickets for all events can be purchased at http://redlightthemovie.eventbrite.com
