The 18th New York African Film Festival Returns to New York in Early April 6th, 2011!

The 18th New York African Film Festival returns to New York in early April. It kicks off with a panel discussion featuring actor-director Harry Belafonte at the Museum of Arts and Design on April 2nd, 2011. It then heads to The Film Society of Lincoln Center for a week, then heads to three other locations throughout April and May, wrapping up as always at the Brooklyn Academy of Music’s BAMcinématek over Memorial Day weekend. It’s all happening in celebration of the United Nations-declared “International Year of Peoples of African Descent.” The 50th Anniversary of Sierra Leonean and Tanzanian Sovereignty will also be marked at the festival.
