“After graduating from Wits University with a degree in Industrial Psychology and Sociology, Nkhesani Manganyi embarked on a career as an actress of which was found to be very successful. After travelling vastly through Africa, she noticed there was a gap in the market for using the fantastic urban energy our country, which wasn’t being branded and packaged into products. Pooling her resources from her academic and creative life experiences combined with a burning desire and determination to pioneer, Nkhensani launched Stoned Cherrie.

The brand launched in 2000 and has grown exponentially since. She has gone on to designing and distributing to Woolworths and later, Foschini too. Nkensani has won many awards including Best Dressed Designer at the Style Awards, 2003 and L’Oreal / Fairlady Catherine Awards, 2005, Lifetime Achievement and also has spoken numerous times at the Design Indaba throughout the years.”
