Fashion retail chains like Mango and Forever 21 are some of names already in or preparing to launch in Nigeria. Nigerians have no intentions to concede a mindblowing 140million potential consumers to only foreign corporations. Indeed they are taking steps to present products and services on par with their foreign counterparts. Enter Funke Adegbola, one such Nigerian preparing to bring luxury and mass retail fashion products to Nigeria. The fashion entrepreneur and brain behind the luxury brand Ella Brown Couture, a brand sold in over 40 boutique stores in Asia, Europe and USA prepares for a launch in Nigeria summer of 2010.
“I will be launching Face Code by EBC Cosmetics line in Nigeria next summer and also my footwear line and accessories will be available in Nigeria,” explains Adegbola in an interview to Nigeria’s Vanguard. “It is going to be a world class shopping experience and I’m going to be in and out of Nigeria in a couple of months to work on the EBC store. I’m very excited!”
