…………………

CelebrityRead Africa is a monthly not-for-profit reading event that brings together different celebrities from different industries, to read a small portion from their respective chosen and favorite literature/book to a live and listening audience. After each celeb is done with reading their chosen portion of the book, the audience would be allowed to ask questions, either about the book or about the celeb’s reading habit, and the answers would be provided by the celeb.

The whole idea is to revive, though gradually, the reading culture amongst African youth, using the ‘celebrity power’.

So far, a good number of celebrities have registered their support and more are still and daily doing so. This is overwhelming for us.

We have been able to do this, consistently, for 7 editions now and for editions gone by, we have had the rare privilege of having the following Nigerian celebrities and each read and endorsed the project: Mr. Tee Mac Iseli (former PMAN president), Timi Dakolo, Ibiyemi Ajakaiye, Denrenle Edun, Yinka Davies, Dipp, Tosin Martins, Kaffy, Modele, Essence, Chude Jideonwu, Myne Whitman, Chief Dele Momodu, Ill Bliss, FEMI, Goldie, Gbemi of the beat FM, Bhaira Mcwizu, Seun Chukwuemeka, Tosin Otitoju, Chief Segun Odegbami, Kelechi Amadi-Obi, Jumoke Verrisimo, Monalisa Chinda, Mandy Brown, Mandy the Comediane, Okechukwu Ofili and others.

We got nominated at the prestigious Future Awards 2011 for the ‘Team of the Year’.
We hosted the largest gathering for a book reading event by a nonprofit group on the 18th of December (more than 500 member of audience).

CelebrityRead Africa holds every last Saturday of the Month.

Venue: Terra Kulture, Plot 1376, Tiamiyu Savage Street, Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria.

Time: 3.00PM – 6.00PM

There are usually plenty of books on display at the venue for sales. This gives you the rare opportunity to buy books at discounted rates and have them signed by our guest authors.

There are gifts for every book bought within the events’ Venue.

10 lucky members of audience will get great gifts – this would be determined via lucky dips.

Admission is FREE!
