Women in Film: Wana Udobang Shines a Spotlight on the ‘Warriors’ of Sickle Cell

‘Warriors’ is an interview series produced by Nigeria’s Wana Udobang, an author, poet, writer and filmmaker, which takes an in-depth look at the lives and experiences of people living with Sickle Cell disease.

“I am hoping that with some injection of resources, I can evolve the series to a video project that looks at other illnesses as well,” says Udobang in explaining why she started the project. “I hope to use this form of story telling as a way to humanize, educate, highlight some of the healthcare inconsistencies and stigmatization of people living with various illnesses.”
