South by Southwest (SXSW) is one of the largest conferences in the USA which includes interactive media, music and film festivals held each year in Austin, Texas. Recently, organizers of SXSW, while in Houston, noticed P-Square at the hotel they were staying. They were so impressed, they wrote about it on their site and hope to have them perform next year at SXSW!
“This past week, Music Fest Booker Matt Sonzala, and International Representative Mirko Whitfeld took a trip to Houston to visit the Consulate Generals of many countries who have and have not worked with SXSW to bring their native bands to Austin. Representing music from around the globe is one of our main goals here at SXSW Music.
After a long day of meetings, they returned to their hotel only to meet Nigerian R&B superstars, P Square in the lobby. You may not have heard of this dynamic duo from West Africa, but people on their side of the world sure have. They are currently on a tour of the U.S. and Canada that started in Houston and will end in New York City. Check them out in a city near you! And hopefully we can bring them back for SXSW 2011.
Watch the video for their song “Ifunanya”.”
Yay! We are excited for the group. Read a review of their performance and where to buy tickets for their last two USA tours here.
