Historically, the “fat” African woman has always been regarded as the more desirable type of woman in most African societies. But, is there a paradigm shift? ‘Skinny Girl in Transit,’ a web series produced by Guaranty Trust Bank’s Ndani TV, seems to suggest so. The series follows the struggles of Tiwa, a young woman living in the city of Lagos, Nigeria who deals with the pressures of being plus size and wanting it all i.e. a successful career and relationship. The series stars Ngozi Nwosu and Kenneth Okolie, and Abimbola Craig as Tiwa, the Skinny Girl In Transit. Watch all episodes of the series so far:
