Shopping at Swahili Fashion Week 2010

“The Swahili Fashion Week shopping experience will take place in a true coastal village, constructed in Karimjee Hall Gardens completely of local natural materials. It is our aim to show that the notions of fashion, glamor, and “Swahiliness” are indeed synonymous.

To enter into the fashion week, one will pass through the shopping, providing attendees with a real Swahili feel, enticing them to shop, relax and enjoy themselves. The village setting promises to tantalize the senses with a full Swahili experience, as other than the designer shopping opportunities mentioned above, the Swahili Fashion Week Shopping Festival will feature:

Swahili cuisine
Swahili beauty and adornment i.e. henna, piko, udi and perfumery
Swahili music and performance
Swahili “Mode” i.e. Beading, kofia making, etc.
Swahili textiles and weaving
Swahili arts and crafts
Swahili furniture
An accessory designers’ showcase
