African Cinema: Daniel K. Daniel, Chelsea Eze, Chigul, Funny Bone & More Star in “Scorned”

Nollywood’s Christiana Martin and Tokunbo Ahmed just wrapped up their co-produced movie “Scorned”.

“Scorned” is the story of a rape victim who took her time to plan her revenge against a rapist who completely forgot about the damage he had done to a young innocent girl. It showcases the psychological damage she went through and the effects the rape still has on her as an adult; and how silence out of fear and shame can cause a psychological/mental breakdown or ultimately strengthen you.

‘Scorned’ is now post production inching towards its cinema release. ”Scorned” stars talented, fast rising stars in the industry, which includes the likes of Daniel K. Daniel, Christiana Martin, Okey Uzoeshi, Chelsea Eze, Chigul, Funny Bone, among others.

Gone are the days of the overflogged and over dramatic romantic, kiss-me-or-I-would-die thematic preoccupations in Nollywood. Right now, filmmakers are taking the serious situations that affect the masses by storm. With the world focusing on corruption, among other social issues, in the socio-political strata, Scorned’s timing couldn’t be perfect to the deal with the effect of psychological drama on the individual and society at large.
