What is the Bake for Change Xmas Drive?
The Bake for Change Xmas Drive was launched in 2012 and has become an annual project. During the Xmas Drive, we visit less privileged children aged 5-18 resident in Lagos State homes. We love Xmas, so with this project we aim to spread the love and cheer of the season all over and put smiles on the faces of the children.

When is the 2012 Xmas Drive
The 2012 Xmas Drive will take place on Sunday the 23rd of December 2012 between
1PM & 6PM.
Which homes will be visited?
We will visit the following homes:
• Children’s Correctional Centre for Junior Boys, Birrel
• Special Correctional Centre for Girls, Idi-Araba
• Children’s Transit Home, Idi-Araba
• Children’s Correctional Centre for Senior Girls, Idi-Araba
How can I be part of it?
Make a cash donation. Bake for Change is a charity baking club and NOT a registered NGO, thus we don’t have a registered bank account. This means that donations can be given to us personally in cash or paid an account of one of the members. All donations are properly recorded and all money collected will be used for gifts.
Buy a gift
Go out and buy a gift! The kids are 5-18 years old, both boys and girls. The gifts should be brand new and useful to the kids. Ideas are toys, books, clothes, jewellery (for older girls), puzzles, games, colouring books & crayons etc.).
In December we will sell Xmas cookies at designated places. Buying a bag donates 1 gift. Watch www.facebook.com/bakeforchange for details.
It’s Xmas, the kids like special treats, so we usually give the homes items like bags of rice, bags of beans, cartons of Indomie, tins of Milk, tins of Milo, Juice etc.
We also donate items that are useful for the children’s hygiene like soap, disinfectant, toothbrushes etc.
You can volunteer to give out gifts with us on the 23rd. We will post meet up points, as well as addresses of all the homes we will be visiting. You can join us for one visit or come along and visit all the homes. We usually get a mini tour of every home and our guests get information about the homes from the principals or social workers present.
