Questionmark Magazine Launches 35120 Save A Child SMS Shortcode

“Questionmark Magazine, wholly owned and operated by Questionmark Entertainment held her first year anniversary and charity party for children at the Special Boys’ Rehabilitation Center in Ikeja on the 27th of May. The event which was supported by the Ministry Of Youth And Social Development and Chicken Republic served as a fulfillment of the social corporate responsibility of the entertainment center and an attempt at bringing to the fore problems faced in rehabilitating a child from the streets, broken home and otherwise as an individual or institution.

Questionmark Magazine is an online blog-style showbiz, celebrity, entertainment and gossip website catering to African with correspondents in both Nigerian and South Africa registered at www.questionmarkmag.com. Since the website launch in May 2009 , 82,000 unique users generating 293,751page impressions each month with a total and average hit of 800,000 monthly.

“We thank all out media friends for their support, we can’t thank them enough. We set out to raise fund and bring to fore the existence of a rehabilitation center with half the Nigerian populace is not aware of while we succeeded exceedingly in raising awareness, we are still saddened we didn’t raise as much fund as we had planned to the center – Enough funds to provide them with computers with internet facilities”, Dro Ameh, The Magazine editor said.

Present at the event were Principal and representatives for the Rehab center. In the principal’s speech, he informed that the children could not be present as some of them were under protective custody and media presence might not do them any good.

Gift packs and brand items – carrier bags, pens, notepads were handed to guest present and press men from both electronic and print media with celebrities like Toni Payne, Mr. Kool, Solid star, Zara, Big Lo, Emem Ema, Harry song, Folarin and Freaky T of Kentro world present.

“We can’t thank the stars who came around enough and individuals who gave us their support – Mr. Ope Banwo, Emem Ema, Provabs, Tunde Ednut. It doesn’t end there as we have also launched the 35120 save a life SMS shortcode” Dro Ameh added.

Individuals can support the Questionmark Magazine’s initiative tagged ‘Save A Child’ via SMS, individuals are implored to send a SMS containing ‘QM SAVE A CHILD’ to 35120. Funds realized from the SMS campaign would be made available to the center.

The maiden edition of the Questionmark Magazine annual charity party enjoyed support from media houses like Soundcity, Nigezie, Music Africa, Smooth FM, Inspiration FM, Silverbird TV, Rhythm FM, Kennis Music Channel, Da New Live Beats, Chicken Republic and Lagos State Ministry Of Youth And Social Development.”
