The 2010 Kora Awards was held in Ouagadougou Sports Stadium in Burkina Faso with over 3,000 in attendance including the country’s president. Nigeria’s twins Paul and Peter scooped up the top award worth one million dollars (742,000 euros). Cape Verde Cesaria Evora and Gabon’s Pierre Akendengue won the lifetime achievement awards, Becca (Ghana) won Best African Prospect, Chronicle 2h (Senegal) Best Reggae Artist and Alicia Keys was crowned best African-American artist of the diaspora.
