If you think you have it tough, are facing life’s adversities, have given up or are ready to give up, then you need to meet Patti Foster, Ladybrille Woman of the Month April 2017, and let her story help you gain perspective.
On June 18, 2002, Patti was severely injured in a horrific car wreck when she was ejected like a missile out of her vehicle after a semi, going 70 mph and pulling a trailer full of cars, barreled into the back of her SUV that was stopped at a busy, red-light intersection. Patti’s body skidded three stories across the highway and landed in the lane of traffic. Eyewitnesses thought her body was a piece of laundry. She suffered traumatic brain injury along with multiple injuries and fractures all over her body (her right eyeball came out of its orifice onto the freeway) and was in a coma for six weeks…her life hung in the balance.
From how to eat to once again being able to recognize and remember the people she loved, Patti had to re-learn everything. Yet, Patti made the choice to look at the positive side, forgive the drunk driver who was driving the semi, and help others with her story. She is a force to be reckoned with and one that speaks to being resilient, persevering, staying positive, and the power of faith.
“What is your life saying when your mouth is not moving. Don’t just talk about it. Be about it. Live what you say.” ~Patti Foster
