Ladybrille announced our Ladybrille Influencer series late last month acknowledging the brilliant men and women using their power and influence to affect many, positively. This week, we received a nice email from MTV Base Africa telling us about their partnership with South Africa’s MTN to link Africa’s youths with Africa’s influencers.
“Influencer: A Noun
An individual who possesses a compelling force which influences or affects decision making of others based on his/her popularity, power or prestige.
After a successful first season, that featured the likes of SA President Jacob Zuma, ex-UK Prime Minister Tony Blair and Hip Hop Mogul Nas (to name a few), the critically acclaimed MEETS is back, this time partnering with Africa’s leading mobile operator, MTN!
MTV Base MEETS…With MTN is a multimedia campaign and youth empowerment platform for the young people of Africa to engage with global icons.
As part of the initiative, African youth are given the power to ask decision-makers and world leaders the big questions! Influencers who have graced the hot seat of “Meets” on the last season include Tony Blair, Nelson Mandela, Morgan Tsvangirai, Wyclef Jean and South African President Jacob Zuma.
In each episode of MTV base MEETS…With MTN, the youth of Africa will get to engage face-to-face with influencers and leaders of Africa and ask them thought-provoking questions powerful enough to inform the entire nation.
MTV Base MEETS…With MTN is creating leaders tomorrow by inspiring the youth of today!”
