Last we shared a fashion story on the design label Marayah O, it was to announce its launch. This time, we take a look at the collection shown at the 2013 MTN Lagos Fashion & Design Week. For us, there seemed to be a need to have a clear idea what season the designer was designing for, who, what and where the label wearer was wearing the designs to.
The collection felt inconsistent with the Spring like fabrics and designs we would have expected to see for a Spring/Summerseason. It also looked and felt costume-like and at times seemed targeted at professional ballerina dancers and/or skaters; rather than the professional Nigerian woman navigating work, events, and other special occasions.
Check out a few images from the collection.
