Akpos Okudu, for its MTN Lagos Fashion & Design Week Spring/Summer 2013 showed she could put a well constructed garment together. However, the designer needed to show her versatility through her design hand by clearly defining the Akpos Okudu woman. The color palette could have been more refreshing and happy, consistent with Spring. We also wanted to see the collection incorporate abstract and/or floral print patterns on softer more fluid fabrics.
This was a safe collection that needs a little more push to transcend from the norm to a standout.
