John Kaveke, the brain behind Kenya’s popular design label Kaveke, has been selected to represent East Africa in next year’s, MNET FACE OF AFRICA 2010, to be held in Lagos, Nigeria. Kaveke will show his collection and serve as one of the Judges at the event.
“It’s a good opportunity . . . for Africa to showcase what (we) have,” said Kaveke to Ladybrille Magazine. “The continent has a lot of potential, which has not been tapped. [W]e have the products and we will be showcasing it to the whole world. A good product away from civil war, hunger and other bad things associated with the continent.’
Kaveke has, designed mostly one piece designs for the Face of Africa competition since 2001. In 2010, he will design a five (5) piece for the event.
