As we prepare for Arise Capetown Fashion Week and gorgeous African models strutting the runway, we take inspiration from Jean Paul Gaultier’s Paris Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2009 Men’s Wear collection. The designer addressing head on the issue of the lack of Black models in the industry, displayed a collection that brought back images and/ or memories of the 60s. Models rocked the runway with Afros and military inspired designs reminiscent of Angela Davis’s “Black Power” 60s era
