Introducing the Newly Formed NIGERIAN FASHION COUNCIL

The Nigeria Fashion Council will be the first functional fashion industry body in Nigeria and will be run under the management of The Bulb Ideas Group LTD. The main aim of the council is to bridge the gap between the consumer, the PRs, the publishing & retail industry and designers.

THE BOARD

The NFC will comprise of an executive board, Advisory Board and Press Committee set out to advice the Nigerian Fashion Council on key issues facing the Nigerian designer fashion industry and to provide invaluable feedback on the Design Collective event and will be instrumental in creating the shortlist for the Nigeria Style Awards.

AIMED AT
Promoting Nigerian fashion talent not only as an extravagant social event but also as a way for emerging talent to understand how the creative and the business aspect of fashion work.

REPRESENTING
A diverse range of designers under a single platform to invariably pitch to international fashion bodies/groups around the world as a way to exchange fashion ideas, trends, products, content, expertise and experience.

WE ASPIRE TO
Put Nigeria on the fashion map with London, Milan, New York, South Africa, Kenya and Paris.

Workshops & Seminars
This is another tool which will be used to attract industry professionals around the world to educate our emerging talent in Nigeria on the business of fashion covering areas like marketing, PR, distribution, sourcing & supplying etc.

The Nigerian Fashion Council will showcase:
• The Nigeria Design Collective as a 2 day event focusing on fashion presentations, runway shows, master classes etc
• Nigeria Style Awards
• Showroom for emerging Nigerian talent

Ladybrille Magazine

Founded in 2007, Ladybrille® Magazine is a California based pioneer digital publication demystifying the image of Africans in the west through contemporary African fashion and celebrating the brilliant woman in business and leadership, with an emphasis on the African woman in the diaspora. Our coverage includes stories on capital, access to markets, expertise, hiring and retention, sales, marketing, and promotions.
