Media Personalities Shade Ladipo and Ariyike Akinbobola to Co-host Her Network Woman of the Year 2017 Awards!

On Sunday, December 10th, 2017, Her Network will host its inaugural ‘Woman of the Year Awards’, an award event created to celebrate outstanding women in diverse industry sectors.

Last month, organizers unveiled nominees for the dynamic awards event and just recently revealed the co-hosts for the evening. Media consultant Ariyike Akinbobola and travel/media entrepreneur Shade Ladipo will co-host the awards event.

Ariyike Akinbobola is a humanitarian, lawyer, author, and award winning Nigerian media personality. She hosts and produces two television programmes for Spice TV Africa – On the couch and Spice Toys. She is also a contributor on various leading lifestyle blogs including Bellanaija.com, and is a You Tube Vlogger withher popular Ariyike Weekly Vlog. In 2015, Ariyike published her first book ‘THE COST OF OUR LIVES’. Ariyike is also known for staging an annual charity festival in Lagos where she creates a supportive platform for various charitable organizations.

Shade Ladipo is the Country Director for WEConnect International in Nigeria, a travel and media entrepreneur, and social activist.

At the age of 25, Shade founded Avienti Limited — a Destination Management Company with three offices in Nigeria. She has worked with the United Nations Volunteers Nigeria and several advertising agencies where she specialized in event management, account management, and client services and strategy.

Shade is one of the founding members of the Lagos Global Shapers and represents Nigeria at World Economic Forum events. She is also the Co-Founder of Enough Is Enough Nigeria, now one of the most vocal non-partisan organizations credited to being a major part of the platforms for young people in deciding Nigeria’s path of change.

Shade has been recognized by several platforms for her work as a change agent and businesswoman. She has been nominated at the Future Awards Africa Awards, chosen as 101 Young Acheivers at the African Business Forum in Accra Ghana in 2008, and selected as a Goldman Sachs fellow.

Shade is also a public speaker and regularly appears on radio programs and at live events about everything she is passionate about including leading a successful business in Nigeria.

The keynote speech on “Building a Legacy From the Ground Up” will be delivered by Retail Specialist, Mrs. Wunmi Williams, the CEO of Nakenohs BLVD whose business evolved from selling accessories from her backyard to building a lifestyle mall in the heart of Ikoyi. Godwin Strings, a talent who is focused on redefining music with the sweet chords of a violin, will also be serenading a room full of beauty and power.

The event will be produced by Witty Liz Events and is aimed at redefining the way women celebrate one another and themselves.
