There is a new Fashion Week in town, Ghana Fashion and Design Week Show. The event prepares to launch in 2012 although no set dates have been inked, yet. In case you missed it, Ghana has been named the fastest growing economy in the world. So, it only makes sense its fashion design industry gets a face lift.

“Ghana Fashion & Design Week Show (GFDW), set to take place in 2012 is the premiere fashion and creative business event designed to educate and develop Ghana’s fashion and creative industry to an international standards. Africa’s fashions continue to redefine itself and its place on the global market scene, with a selection of local Ghanaian designers being discovered locally and internationally recently, with many more aspiring emerging talents yet to be discovered; having the right support needed for development.
Daryl Lifestyle Group, the parent company of GFDW aims to create a solid platform to further establish and cement these promising discoveries, through education and development of the fashion industry in Ghana for a global audience.
The annual event, which will take place over a three-day period in 2012, will be the first in three years. GFDW 2012 will incorporate international standard fashion showcase, an exhibition hub, a fashion business seminar with briefing provided by industry experts, with a networking opportunity.
