African Cinema: Ebony Life Films Licenses ‘Royal Hibiscus’ to Amazon Prime for International Distribution

EbonyLife Films, producers of Fifty, The Wedding Party and The Wedding Party 2, have announced that its latest production, The Royal Hibiscus Hotel (RHH) is now available on the Amazon Prime platform.  Starting this month, the African diaspora will get the chance to enjoy a high-quality, heartwarming film, made in Nigeria for the world.

“The digital debut of RHH is an exciting step for us and we are glad to have another release outside Nigeria and the continent. It is thrilling to know that millions of people will get the opportunity to watch and enjoy this special movie,” said Mo Abudu founder of EbonyLife Films.

The Royal Hibiscus Hotel is a story about ‘Ope’, a struggling Nigerian chef in London who moves back to Lagos and discovers that life is quite unpredictable. Its universal themes of love, laughter, following your dreams and connecting with family, make it easy for people of all ages and cultures to connect with it.

EbonyLife Films plans additional digital, widespread releases of RHH in the coming months. Amazon Prime is a paid subscription service from Amazon.com that gives viewers the opportunity to watch videos and listen to music for a monthly or annual fee.
