Born and raised in New Orleans, Chef Toya Boudy has called New Orleans home for over twenty years. A graduate of West Jefferson High School, Boudy was, in 2003, attending Nunez Community College in Chalmette, Louisiana, majoring in Culinary Arts and Theater, when Hurricane Katrina struck. Needless to say, the Hurricane rearranged her life and forced her to relocate. Boudy ultimately returned “home” to New Orleans, November 2007. For her, however, the “home” experience was no longer the same. She had fallen deeply in love with the city. Using her ability to write creatively, Boudy began to explore deep rooted traditions of music, art and food in the “Big Easy.”
She also used her writing to release and express her opinions on fashion, music, and pain she was going through. Today, Chef Boudy is also an inspiring and rising star and is the founder of Delamas Catering. She specializes in putting a unique twist on New Orleans style dishes and cooks with a Southern flare. “For me, cooking is very personal because it can show your love and appreciation for the people that eat your food. I want my clients to pass that same love and appreciation to their guests through my creations.”
