Samantha Cole London is too FIERCE for words. The designer nails it everytime from conception to execution breathing even more life into already brilliant designs with strong editorial shoots.
The Warrior collection launched late last year. The designer explains her inspiration:
“The foundation of this collection drew influence from the current social and economic climate that we are facing today. This interpretation through my work represented a darker more aggressive collection with harder edges, structured layering and inspiration drawn from modern architecture not built from indulgence but reminiscent of medieval buildings; powerful, sobering and stark.
In order to focus the collections direction my muse or should I say muse’s would have to be the female characters that I drew inspiration from to reflect my interpretation of the power, determination and strength that a woman reveals in times of hardship which is why the collection is called “WARRIOR”.
Inspiration was drawn from Kate Beckinsale in “UNDERWORLD” meets Tina Turner in “MADMAX” sprinkled with Jane Fonda in “BARBARELLA” set against a futuristic backdrop. A combination of these female characters an what they represented in strength, determination an independence without losing their femininity was the point behind the collection……it’s a woman’s prerogative to show power, strength, courage and be aggressive if need be while retaining her femininity.
She can be strong when required and submissive if so desired the point is it’s her prerogative.”
