SUNO New York Fall/Winter 2010 – ‘Kanga Chic’ Collection

AFRICA IS IN STYLE. San Francisco native, film director and screenwriter turned designer, Max Osteweis, began his label SUNO in 2008 after many trips to Kenya and collecting Kenya’s popular textile-the kanga. Less than a year later, First Lady Michelle Obama rocked one of his designs en route to San Francisco which brought immediate attention to SUNO and the rest as they say is history. Okay, maybe not completely history afterall it is still a very young brand. . .

However, staying consistent with what has brought him success so far, Osteweis along with his design partner Erin Beatty once again paid hommage to the continent with their Fall/Winter 2010 collection. The 2010 collection is inspired by East Africa’s traditional rich textiles-the kanga, among many inspirations. Enjoy what we call the SUNO’s ‘Kanga chic’ inspired collection.
