Actress Ginnifer Goodwin, best known for her role as Margene Heffman on the HBO series Big Love, has just made students at Academy of Art University students very happy. Goodwin wore, this past Sunday, an environmentally chic dress made by students Priscilla Guimarais, Kumiko Haruyama, Nui Tanapornwattana, Audrey Wang and Tramaine Tillman to the 20th Annual Environmental Media Association Awards.
The students created a collection of sustainable dresses for a class project using processes and practices that ensure sustainability from inception to completion, and named the collection 1Oak (One Of A Kind). Goodwin’s dress was made from hospital scrubs! The scrubs were treated, dyed and pleated using sustainable practices.
A natural choice indeed for Goodwin who is an outspoken vegan. The 20th Annual Environmental Media Association Awards was held at the Paramount lot in Los Angeles, California. The event honors film and television productions and individuals that increase public awareness of environmental issues and inspire personal action on these issues. Sir Richard Branson, Centropolis Entertainment, and National Geographic Society & Jason Mraz were honored.
