British-Nigerian recording artist Olaedo Ibe debuts her hit single ‘Lead me’.
“I had so much fun with the music video, it was shot in a forest to make an emphasis on the lyrical content of the single,” said Ibe. “It also mirrors Psalm 43:3 – Oh, send out Your light and Your truth! Let them lead me; Let them bring me to Your holy hill and to Your tabernacle”.

“Olaedo Ibe (Olaedo, meaning gold in the Nigerian Igbo language) is a Singer, Songwriter and Composer, based in the UK. Her distinctive soulful sound, profound lyrics and inspirational message is a combined force to be reckoned with. From an early age, Olaedo started singing at her father’s church, weddings and school stage plays. Simultaneously, developing her song writing ability by reading psalms, listening to Motown music, personal life experiences and worship.
Although, born and bred in London; she also grew up in Nigeria (Lagos and Abuja), where she was introduced to a plethora of different types of music whilst gaining her first studio recording experience at Chrisland Schools, Lagos at the age 10.
Returning to the UK; at the age of 14 she shared the stage with Peobo Bryson at the Cadogen Hall. Encouraged by David Gest and former Manager of Roy Ayers/Deniece Williams, she began to pursue a career in music, sessions at Roundhouse in Camden for a year and simultaneously took acting classes. Prudent enough to know that her talent was raw, she took wise steps to develop and hone her gifting.
Olaedo joined the youth choir at her church and was encouraged by her youth leader to sing one of her self-penned songs. Although, she was fearful she received a positive response from the congregation. She continued to pursue her flare for music whilst, overcoming various life’s challenges. Such life experiences have given her a wealth of life skills which makes her music relatable across all borders.
Eventually, becoming a finalist at Fred Jerkins UK Talent Search and contestant on Time2Shine. She simultaneously, attended Singercise for nine months, then released her independent EP “Shine Like Gold” with ‘EM Artist Services’ at the ESQ Bar in London. With limited promotion, her debut music video was picked up by Yahoo Screen. Ministering at various youth events, churches and Bush hall (Supporting act for Rachel Kerr), Olaedo was nominated for a MOBO/UMA and Premier Gospel Award. Olaedo has the ability to sing and write within all genres of music still maintaining artistic integrity. From the neo-soul/quiet storm “Dust with Life” to the hip hop inspired “Credit” or the RnB; rhythm and blues ‘With Me (Olaedo’s Psalm)”. Her sound and musicality knows no limit.
She is passionate about promoting health especially in childhood obesity, mental health, sickle cell anaemia and skin bleaching. She has recently achieved an MSc in Public Health.
Her new single ‘Lead Me (Olaedo’s Psalm 2)’is a hip hop soul inspired song about life’s choices and asking God to lead the way. The single will be part of the 2nd Project “Grow to Glow”; which aims to promote the fruits of the spirit, she has showcased the single on Unashamed TV, Pizza Express Jazz Club (Supporting act for Esther Farinde) and on the 14th of Sept,2016 at the Karamel Club.
