Video: Siji Brings Techno “Ijo” to Nigeria’s Music Scene!

Siji is one talented artist. He gave us “Morenike” and “Yearning for Home” and if you thought that was all he had to offer, you got it wrong! The brilliant musician switches things up in a way that says, “you don’t wanna go there, really.” He serves up refreshing music with a heavy techno influenced sound reminiscence of club scenes in San Francisco bringing the dance “Ijo” to the doorsteps of Nigerians and the world alike. Loosely translated, the song says get loose, take your shoes off and dance! To show the versatility of African sounds, Siji shoots a simple but very effective music video showing off the beauty of Lagos, his language “Yoruba” and Nigerian fabrics and fashion.

Hot on the success of the recent Siji/Alix Alvarez collaboration comes the stunning visual interpretation to their classic single “Ijo”.

Shot on location in Lagos, Nigeria, where Siji has been rediscovering his childhood past following a 20yr plus absence, the colorful and visually arresting masterpiece showcases an open audition held for dancers drawn from the bustling metropolis.

It features cameo appearances from a colorful cast of characters including Afrobeat Singer, Ade Bantu, the delightful songstress, Yinka Davis, radio impresario Tintin ‘The Koolness’ as well as a royal prince, all of who masterfully played out the lyrics with quite amusing results.

The chart topping single ‘IJO’ is currently available for purchase on Itunes and all other digital platforms. For more information kindly visit: sijimusic.com, solechannelmusic.com.
