“Gymkhana Hilali is a Tanzanian Fashion designer and owner of the label Paka Wear, who graduated with a degree in Fashion pattern design from Damaellin College in Johannesburg, South Africa.
His designs have been showcased in various fashion shows including Swahili Fashion Week, 2010’s Khanga za Kale Fashion Show and 2010’s Lady In Red Fashion Show where he was recognized as the most creative designer of the night after he presented designs influenced by his style known as Hip Hop Kiswahili as well as international elements.
In an event organized by Tanzania Mitindo House in Arusha, he was awarded the Best Designer Award by the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association. Apart from that, he is also a screenwriter for documentaries and movies as well as a make-up artist and stylist.”
