R&B Singer Teddy Pendergrass Dead at 59


It is a sad day for music lovers worldwide. R & B Singer Teddy Pendergrass known for classic hits like “Close the Door,” “It Don’t Hurt Now,” and “Love T.K.O” died yesterday in his Pennsylvania home of Colon Cancer. The singer underwent colon cancer surgery eight months ago and according to his family, had a difficult recovery.

Philadelphia born Pendergrass was at the pinnacle of his career when he suffered a spinal cord injury in a 1982 car accident that left him paralyzed from the waist down. He is survived by his eleven year old son. He was 59.
