LBW 063: Meet Precious Ebere, Founder of GEMS Initiative, and Ladybrille Woman of the Month April 2018


Precious C. Ebere is a  skilled web author, community service professional, and a social entrepreneur, who is passionate about children and women in Africa. Her work involves constantly innovating for social good, among which is GEMS Initiative, which seeks to bridge the gap of inequality in education, resources, and opportunities amongst children and women. She leverages on technology, craftsmanship, entrepreneurship, music, and mentorship to solve some of the world’s biggest problems.

 
Since founding ‘Gems Initiative’ in 2016, the Foundation has reached over 1000 children and has trained more than 500 women in Technopreneurship across rural communities.  She also founded Chess Club for Kids, poised to enhance the cognitive aspect of children in rural schools.
 
Precious has experiences across technology, entrepreneurship, and civic leadership, as well as youth engagement. She owns an Afri-Tech Baby Clothing Company, which was designed to solve three purposes, reusability, health and restoring African culture beginning with babies.
 
To deepen her expertise as an analytical writer and speaker, Precious has written several articles on children among which is “Every Child is your Child”, an article that is targeted to create the bond between children and any capable adult. 
 
Precious Ebere, a graduate of University Of Abuja with a bachelor’s degree in Biology Education, is focused on bridging the gap of inequality in education, resources, and opportunities amongst children and women.
