Nigeria's Got Talent: WATCH Highly Talented Nigerian Hip-Hop Violinist Ogechukwu Godwin Cover Davido's 'Dami Duro' Hit Single

Barely two weeks into the semi-final rounds of Africa’s biggest talent hunt, Nigeria’s Got Talent, and the nation is fixated on array of breath taking talent on display on the show

Shaking the music landscape is hip hop violinist Godwin Ogechukwu who performed Davido’s ‘Dami Duro’ on the violin. Not only did the judges think he was impeccable, he also got a standing ovation from both judges and the audience. “I grew up with the violin” he says as his eyes lit up with excitement; “I love the rhythm and sounds produced by the violin but I wanted to be extraordinary so I chose to go this special route. I don’t ever see myself doing music without it”. On what to expect going forward, he says; “viewers haven’t seen anything yet, as I have more amazing violin skills in stock for everyone and if I make it to the finals, Nigerians will be in awe by the time I am done with my violin,” Ogechukwu promised.

Mouth Saxophonist Marilyn Ogechi who played D’jinee’s ‘Ego’ to a rousing reception with the use of her hand says; “My talent is very rare and priceless” she says. “People watch me in amazement but for me, its an effortless act. I will not trade this gift for anything in this world. All Nigerians need to do is keep me in this competition and they will amazed at what my hands can do”, Marilyn concluded pleading for votes.

There were also the dance talents, outstanding was the awesome The Lord’s Chosen Dancers who impressed with an energetic and dynamic routine that demonstrated skilled determination.

The violinist, hand saxophonist, dance groups, and more incredible talents made the shows semi-finals, and together they attest to the fact that Nigeria’s got talent and affirm the reasons why the Got Talent Franchise came to Nigeria. The semi-finals continue next week and viewers still have the power to save their favorite talent. Nigeria’s Got Talent is aired on AIT on {WHAT DAY} (10:30 PM), STV (8:00 PM), NTA (4 PM), TVC (9PM) and Soundcity (6:30 PM). Fans in the United Kingdom can watch the show on HITV UK Sky 193 (8 PM).

Hosted by Andre Blaze, the judges for the season are radio host Dan Foster, actor Kate Henshaw and entertainment entrepreneur, Yibo Koko. The Airtel-sponsored first season of Nigeria’s Got Talent began to air on 16 September and will run until December 2012.

The Got Talent franchise worldwide, which is in its sixth year, has produced many notable performers in the last couple of years including Diversity, Bianca Ryan and Britain’s Got Talent’s 2009 1st runner up Susan Boyle, whose debut album became the fastest selling UK debut album of all time, selling over 3 million copies in the U.S. It is the only talent competition show that is open to any age and any talent with auditions taking the show to numerous cities in search of one-of-a-kind talent.
