NFL’s First Female Coach to Join #SHESummit Stage on October 7th

Dr Jen WelterWe know industries like sports, finance and technology are male-dominated… but it’s always surprising to me that even what we think of as female fields like fashion, beauty and magazines also have more men at the top. After all only 25 women CEO’s lead Fortune 500 companies today, just 22% women comprise global parliaments… and the numbers don’t get better in most industries.

The documentary series MAKERS has done tremendous work to highlight women who have broken through countless barriers in every industry and they are now nominated for an Emmy in the Outstanding Historical Programming-Long-Form category. I am thrilled to have my friend, MAKERS’ Founder & Executive Producer Dyllan McGee moderate Breaking Barriers in Male Dominated Fields on Wednesday, October 7th.

Panelists will include: NFL’s first female coach Jennifer Welter, International Medical Corps’ Nancy Aossey who has delivered $1.5 billion of assistance and training to millions of people in 70 countries, and Foreign Relations Council’s senior fellow Gayle Tzemach Lemmon who has documented the story of the secret pilot program to insert women in combat alongside men with her bestselling book Ashley’s War. From football to natural disasters and war, each of these panelists has demonstrated that women are physically and mentally tough enough to succeed in any field.
