March is Women’s History Month: A Tribute to Ladybrille Women of the Months

This month has been a celebration of women, globally, marked by the International Women’s Day celebration on March 8th, 2011. In the USA, the first public celebration of women’s history month began in 1978. Back then, it was called “Women’s History Week” and took place in Sonoma County, California. The week included a celebration of March 8, International Women’s Day. By 1987, the celebration had evolved and expanded. Ultimately in 1987, Congress expanded the celebration to a month and declared March to be Women’s History Month.

From its inception, Ladybrille Magazine has shown its commitment to celebrating the accomplishments and contributions of women. We have particularly highlighted the brilliant contributions of women through our Ladybrille Woman of the Month monthly features. These women from all walks of life and professional backgrounds, have shared their diverse stories of happiness, sadness, pain, resilience, strength, beauty, failure, success, spirituality, sacrifice, patience, audacity, endurance, love, family, friends and so much more. As the world celebrates women this month, we need not look too far than our roster of fiercely brilliant women. We invite you to revisit some of our interviews below and be ABSOLUTELY AND RIDICULOUSLY INSPIRED! For our brilliant men, join in sharing the stories of these remarkable women with your sisters, mothers, girlfriends, friends, wives and all women  in your life that could use a little inspiration.
