Kenyan Actress Lupita Nyong’O Emerges as Fashion Icon, Nominated for the Golden Globes

Besides her seemingly bright future in the filmdom and her latest nomination for the Golden Globes, the talented Kenyan actress Lupita Nyong’o is fast emerging as the next big thing in the world of fashion.

The Yale School of Drama graduate, who has been nominated for her portrayal of the abused slave Patsy in the Steve McQueen-directed 2013 movie ‘12 Years a Slave’, is also making waves for her eclectic wardrobe choices.

The multi-faceted young filmmaker was recently spotted in a flaming-orange coloured brocade and leather dress, from the house of Rodarte, at the film festival in New Orleans and in another New York City event the star was seen in a classy Chanel ensemble, comprised of a high-neck black tile sequin dress and double-breasted tweed jacket.

Other than sporting contemporary and classy brands with equal elan, the actress showed off her playful side in a Miu Miu Art Deco-inspired bird print dress at the premiere of her film in Los Angeles.

The newcomer Nyong’o is nominated under the Best Supporting Actress category of 71st Golden Globes Awards, which is scheduled to take place on January 12, 2014. – Fibre2Fashion
