Joburg Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2011 Collection: Grapevine

“Grapevine is a new Joburg based label that embodies sophistication, elegance and assertiveness. The pieces created are ‘to have and to hold’ pieces, with a timeless and distinct style. Grapevine is the brainchild of Komotjo Malatji, former pattern design and grading lecturer at Lisof with broad experience in the industry, from corporate to catwalk.

Special attention to detail, fit and quality is the core of the business. Rich textures, warm earth colours and distinct styling give the designs their luxury feel. Grapevine designs for women that are driven, assertive and have earned their worth regardless of background. Women of substance and significance in their different roles, giving them the right amour, style and confidence to be their better self. Grapevine strives for excellence and continuous re-invention and relevance.

Grapevine’s theme for Autumn/Winter 2011 is ‘Flirtatious authority’. The collection consists of rich textures and patterns, warm earth colours and basic versatile pieces. The silhouette is more controlled and structured yet feminine.”
