Come July 2011, fashion model talents all over Nigeria will be sailing a clear and sure course into fashion longitudes and latitudes as www.wetinhappen.com and Kardynal Kommunikationz presents Ibom SuperModel 2011; a model talent search competition produced in association with ISIS Models South Africa.
Ibom SuperModel Search will be the crowning of all the five fashion shows lined up for the Ibom Fashion Collective week. The eventual winner will claim the Ibom SuperModel 2011 Title, valued at $7000 US Dollars, plus an automatic entry into the Nigerian Next Super Model (NNSM) competition hosted by Joan Okorodudu of ISIS Models South Africa and test shoots with Creative nigerian Studios.
In the words of Mr. Ubong Ekanem, Creative Director of Kardynal Kommunikationz and Project Coordinator of the Ibom fashion Collective, the model search is designed to be an annual platform to discover less exposed Nigerian model talents, expose them to international model scouts and ferry them to international fashion circuits where they will make a career for themselves as professional models.
This year, House of J’ola (Lagos/J’bourg), Berry Couture (Abuja), Bunmi Koko (London), Promsey Exclusiv (Holland), Feron Couture (Lagos), Eternite (Boston) are the fashion labels commissioned to make a voyage into the back and front of beyond, make a brief port of call in the land of creativity and ultimately produce stop and stare outfits that will be strutted by the Ibom Supermodel contestants that will be bringing tremendous energy to the catwalk of Uyo.
The project Manager of Ibom fashion collective and Publisher of www.wetinhappen.com, Mr Aniekan James Ekah says that all applicants from around Nigeria will audition for the grand finale of the Model Search in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. Fifteen Finalists will be selected and brought to a location in Akwa ibom State for a 10 days boot camp, for workshop on social etiquette, hairstyling, make-up, deportment, runway modeling, on camera interview and photo modeling.
The fifteen finalists will appear in the final live fashion spectacular from which the eventual winner will be selected. Ibom SuperModel search is open to all Nigerian girls between the ages of 17 – 24. They must stand at 5.8” (1.78m) or above, with hip size not more than 38 inches (96cm).
