Hip-Hop World Awards 2009 produced by Hip-Hop World Award Magazine will be moving to a new home this year. The award producers recently announced a change of venue to Abuja, Federal capital of Nigeria.

“So many times, we have been confronted by people that Hip-Hop World Awards only celebrates Lagos based acts, that is part of the reason why we are embarking on this journey outside Lagos, explains Ayo Animashuan founder of Hip-Hop world Awards. “Moreso, we’ve looked around and found that the only venue that befits what we’re trying to achieve this year; that can accommodate all our ideas and experiments, is the international Conference Center Abuja”

Launched in 2006, the Hip-Hop World Awards is one of the country’s prominent award’s event recognizing the contributions and excellence of its musicians. Since its inception, it has been held in Lagos, former captial. This year’s event is scheduled for May 16, 2009 and will be held at the International Conference Center, Abuja and will be hosted by Nigeria/America’s R &B Singer Banky W and Nigeria’s On Air Personality Kemi Adetiba.
