On August 10th-11th, 2012,the highly anticipated Gaborone Fashion Weekend took place in Gaborone, the capital City, in Botswana at the Ditshupo Hall. And, if there is one thing that was very clear about the inaugural event, it has to be that Botswana has a very refined, cosmopolitan and progressive fashion sense that cannot be ignored.
Organized by fashion designer Koketso Chiepe and the prominent entertainment & lifestyle magazine, Lapolaga, the event managed to pull in a diverse group of designers across the continent and Africa’s prominent editors including Helen Jennings of Arise Magazine and Oroma Elewa of Pop Africana Magazine.
The model selections were on point and the clothes creatively and colorfully designed. We intend to bring you some of the fashions online next week! In the meantime, here are some of Botwswana’s fashion forward who attended the event.
