Diamond Bank Celebrates Unsung Heroes of Nigeria with TV Series to Mark Nigeria's 50th Birthday

Diamond Bank in conjunction with Mo Abudu’s Inspire Africa is celebrating the true Nigerian spirit to mark Nigeria’s 50th birthday. As part of the celebration, the spotlight shifts from celebrities that dominate our TV and radio airwaves to the average Nigerians, the true celebrities, with a TV series on Nigeria’s unsung heroes.  Below is the information you need to apply:

“With the approach of Nigeria’s 50th anniversary, plans are underway by the federal government, state governments, corporate and entertainment Nigeria. The stage is set, the world is watching in expectation of high powered red carpet events that would trail this celebration.

At Inspire Africa, we are towing a different line by putting the spotlight on the true Nigerian celebrants – everyday people who have done something to change and challenge positively, their situations; men and women who in their little circles continue to be a source of inspiration, and by doing so have contributed to the growth of Nigeria. These people are our Naija Diamonds.

Selected from hundreds of Nigerians across the country, Naija Diamonds will feature thirty six amazing people to be representative of the true Nigerian spirit.
Naija Diamonds will put the spotlight on the “Diamonds” stories, struggles, and can-do spirit over a six week period.

SELECTION CRITERIA

Dynamic Nigerian men and women with strength of character and a positive mind to succeed in life.

Undiscovered Nigerians who by their own tenacity and determination have accomplished something, overcome something or been a catalyst for something that makes them worthy of celebration.

* No age limits

* No gender boundaries

* No ethnic divides

Do you know someone who has what it takes to be one of our ambassadorial Naija Diamonds?
Nominate someone to become a Naija Diamond, today – follow these four easy steps:

1. Think about what makes you or your nominee special. Ask yourself: What makes me or my nominee unique? What specific accomplishments have you, or your nominee achieved that is truly remarkable? What impact has your work, or your nominee’s work had on others?

2. Take a look at our nomination form. We suggest you review the information requested about yourself, your nominee and their work before filling out your submission.

3. Tell us about you or your nominee! Take your time and fill the nomination form appropriately. Be sure to include all necessary information.

4. Click “Submit.” If your nomination has been successfully transmitted, you’ll see a “thank you” message on your screen. If you provided us with your e-mail address, we’ll also send a confirmation that your nomination has been received.

That’s it! Nominations for Naija diamonds begins from Sun 30th May to Sun 27th June 2010.”
