What do you think will define S/S 2012 for you?

What will define the collection will be how unique it is. The collection is formed on the seductive nature of the ‘sirens’ in Greek myths. Their irresistible beauty and enchanting voices brought sailors to their death in shipwrecks on their rocky island. Exploring and telling a story of a twisted parallel between allure and danger is the key theme behind the collection.

The woman that comes to mind is cast out from society and finds pleasure in using her beauty as a weapon, often deceiving and misleading human nature. The discovery of damaged and used produce from old shipwrecks forms the trend, which adapts androgynous dressing into something organic and femininely sexy. Think 21st century siren: seductive, alluring and unpredictable!

What can we expect from your collection?

Expect to see exaggerated silhouettes, belted waists, winged sleeves, draping, versatility, translucency, fluidity and Bunmi Koko’s signature longitudinal caissons. As well as unusual textiles, an aquatic palette, tassels, lace embroideries, organza, chiffon and satin. This is sure to be Bunmi Koko’s most spectacular collection yet!” Bunmi Koko/Arise
