Video: “We consume, consume…we can’t feed ourselves,” Terra Kulture’s Bolanle Austen-Peters challenges Nigerians to create and innovate

Bolanle Austen-Peters is an administrator, producer, director and costume designer. She is also the founder of Terra Kulture (The Nigerian Cultural Center); an educational and recreational organization established in 2003 to promote the richness and diversity of Nigerian languages, arts and culture.

Austen-Peters who is also producer and costumier for ’93 Days the movie,’ recently challenged her fellow country men and women to create, innovate and develop Nigeria. Her speech was delivered at the annual ‘The Platform’ summit.

Highlights of her speech:

1. She laid the historical context for creativity.
2. She compared other similarly situated countries and their growth.
3. She highlighted the epidemic of consumerism and import dependency in the country.
4. She challenged Nigerians to rise and step to the plate in changing their country.
