The 9th Annual BET Awards took place yesterday, June 28th, 2009. Celebrities like Keri Hilson, Alicia Keys, Beyonce, LaToya Luckett were among the many on the red carpet flaunting their sexy bodies and red carpet looks. There was a little “oshiness” (foolishness) in the form of Melanie Thornton who our fashion police promptly arrested and whisked off to fashion jail for ‘indecent exposure on the red carpet.’ Other than that really bad fashion faux pas, some celebs like Ciara paid homage to the late Michael Jackson while others just did their usual Balmian thing-think Beyonce.
Beyonce in character with her Balmian dress gave a nod to the 80s-think the ladies of the show “Dynasty.” Her dress was a bit too overwhelming for us with super bright colors reminiscent of the Christmas holidays and lots of sequins. Makeup trends were simple clean fresh yet youthful faces. Our favorite look for the evening: Alicia Keys in a see through sleeves, heavily embellished v-neck mini Jenny Packham dress. Her strappy nude sexy sandals and matching clutch with full neck length freshly tight hair curls made her our Ladybrille celeb of the evening.
