BET 2012 Awards: Who Will Make the Cut? Wizkid, Sarkodie . . . ?!

It is that time of the year when I make my predictions on who I think will make the cut at the 2012 BET Awards for Best International Act Africa.

West Africa
1. Wizkid: The kid is everywhere: UK, Malaysia, Nigeria and he just recently inked a major deal for worldwide distribution thanks to EME/Konvict Music liason. He also has an album out, which is a big criteria for Lilian Blankson (Ghanaian-American spearheading the African music movement at BET) and the BET International team in selecting candidates. Wizkid both for BET as well as Africa is a great nominee. For BET, it helps them with an even wider reach and keeps the buzz going throughout the nomination period; with a possibility of having Western media carry the story given the Akon/Konvict Music angle. For Africa, the continent is sure to stay up way into the wee hours of the morning in high anticipation of  their”boy Wiizy” winning.
