Vickie Remoe is a writer and TV producer. The Vickie Remoe Show is a cross between ‘The Oprah Show’ and Anthony Bourdain’s ‘Parts Unknown’ with a clear and direct focus on African business and travel.
She is the Managing Director at VRC Marketing Company. Ms. Remoe holds a B.A. in Political Science from Haverford College and an M.S. Degree in Broadcast Journalism from Columbia University.
Moved by the spate of gender-based violence in Sierra Leone, she founded Sister Circles, a not for profit that creates safe spaces for women and girls to engage in open and blame-free dialogue on gender-based violence; customary, structural, sexual, or domestic abuse. Ms. Remoe’s mission is to challenge and change attitudes, and behaviors that perpetuate gender inequality in West Africa.
She is a recipient of the GWB Commission Award for Sierra Leone Arts & Culture (2011), the Women Empowerment (We) Network Award for Girls & Women’s Empowerment (2016).
